Deadline for proposals for voluntary sector research conference

The deadline for submitting a paper or session idea to NCVO and VSSN’s 12th Researching the Voluntary Sector Conference is 10 March 2006.

NCVO and and Voluntary Sector Studies Network will be holding their 12th Researching the Voluntary Sector Conference on 13 and 14 September at Warwick University. The conference offers voluntary sector researchers and opportunity to meet, discuss findings and share ideas.

Proposals about research on any voluntary sector topics are welcome, but the organisers suggest likely themes include:

* Philanthropy and giving
* Methodological issues
* Relationships between the VCS and the state
* Infrastructure, resources and management
* Civil renewal, active citizenship and volunteering
* The role of faith-based organisations
* Public policy

You can submit a proposal to present a single research paper, or a whole session (which might be a discussion, panel, or suite of related papers). Proposals should be between 400 and 600 words long and should be emailed to NCVO by 10 March 2006.
