Voicemail tool to support growth of SMS fundraising

Telephone fundraising specialists Pell & Bales have launched a new service that is designed to enhance results from SMS fundraising. Now charities can send a recorded voice message to the supporter via SMS. Once the message has been heard, the supporter can, with just one click, ask for a call-back or be put straight through to the agency’s supporter response line to talk to someone.
It lets the supporter choose when to respond, rather than receive a phone call which might come at an inconvenient time. The alert can tell them who the message is from, and what it is about, and the urgency.
The new service has been developed in partnership with voicemail broadcasting specialists CleverVoice .
Pell & Bales say that the service “presents a big opportunity for charities to reach previously un-contactable or lapsed supporters in a way that inspires the supporter to contact them, and to do so in their own time – when convenient.”
Keith Hawkins, CEO of CleverVoice said:

“We are seeing amazing results particularly when the voice message comes from a celebrity, and for the charity sector there is definitely a place for sending a voice message direct from a beneficiary or field worker.”

Bethan Holloway, Client Services Director at Pell & Bales commented that the service “blends the space between inbound and outbound messaging, and places control in the hands of the supporter”.
Other charities that have used CleverVoice include WaterAid for its 2012 The Big Dig and The Bob Champion Cancer Trust.
