Cork culture attracts sponsors

Cork’s tenure as European Capital of Culture has attracted major sponsorship from the business community.

Organisers of Cork 2005 have raised ‚€6.4 million in sponsorship to date, with major support from AIB, Musgrave, Thomas Crosbie Holdings and Heineken.

Private sector contributions are running at 38 percent of the budget for the year compared with 13 percent for other cities that had taken on European Capital of Culture.
