Faith-based community groups ask for fair treatment
The General Director of the Evangelical Alliance UK, the Rev Joel Edwards, has asked national and local government not to discriminate against faith-based community and voluntary groups “in the name of political correctness.”
Speaking in Brixton this week, Rev Edwards said that Christian and faith-based community action projects were an integral part of the voluntary sector, yet they often “have difficulty obtaining finances through grants.”
He appealed to statutory funders “don’t refuse our applications just because you don’t like what we believe. Judge us by what we do!”
