Kintera and American Express announce CRM partnership

US online fundraising provider Kintera has partnered with American Express in a cause related marketing (CRM) programme.

The three-year agreement will enable certain US non-profits that use the Kintera Sphere software platform to receive additional contributions. If the nonprofit chooses to participate in the American Express programme, then each time a donor uses an American Express Card to make an online donation to the nonprofit through the Kintera Sphere software platform, an additional contribution will be made to that nonprofit during the fundraising campaign.

To participate in the programme the nonprofit is required to place information about the American Express cause marketing programme on the transaction pages of its fundraising website. In turn, the nonprofit’s supporters can raise more money for the cause by spreading the word about the contribution opportunity to friends, family and other potential donors.

In addition participating nonprofits will be able to include information about their fundraising campaigns to American Express Cardmembers through placement of printed messages in millions of American Express Cardmember billing statements.

Toys for Tots will be the lead recipient of this special programme as part of the Christmas 2004 giving season, with donors encouraged to contribute online using their American Express Card.
