Cancer Research UK launches discount shops

Following successful three-month trials, the UK’s largest charity has converted 70 of its 642 shops into discount stores.

The shops will sell items which failed to sell in its regular shops at reduced prices of between 50p and £3. The charity expects to make first year profits of about £2 million.
