London man found guilty of charity fraud
A retired bank manager has been convicted after fraudulently raising funds on behalf of a diabetes charity.
Arthur Bennett of South Norwood in London was found guilty at Kingston Crown Court of acting as a trustee of a charity whilst disqualified by the Charity Commission.
According to BBC London, which yesterday broadcast details of its investigation into Bennett’s cativities, he was also found guilty of fraudulent trading under the Companies Act, together with two counts of providing false information to the Charities Aid Foundation.
