VSNTO launches new Web site
With funding from the New Opportunities Fund, the Voluntary Sector National Training Organisation (VSNTO) has launched a Web site.
It is designed to covers a wide range of skills development issues relevant to paid staff, volunteers and trustees of voluntary and community organisations.
Unfortunately, the site contains a number of errors and some design faults, and these have been pointed out by at least two other publications this week. VolResource Newsletter points out that the Quality Frameworks section is “crying out for an intro or overview section.”

This month’s NFP TECHNO is more damning, pointing out the references to ICFM Update – “as redundant as the ICFM name;” to Third Sector magazine being owned by Arts Publishing International, when Haymarket bought it out earlier this year; and the recommendation to read “Charity” magazine from the Charities Aid Foundation which ceased publication some years ago. NFP TECHNO adds that the site attributes ownership of “Professional Fundraising” magazine to Brainstorm Publishing rather than TM&D Press.
NFP TECHNO’s editor concludes: “as this superb new website has been financed by the New Opportunities Fund, I suggest that an immediate audit is conducted to ascertain exactly what work was undertaken for the investment and recommend that the people responsible for the website take their own advice and make contact with the Big Issue about future prospects.”
