Connectivity, not content, is king

The ever-incisive Michael Gilbert argues today in Nonprofit Online News that “Nonprofits have invested huge amounts of money in destination web sites, but almost nothing in managing large quantities of email. This is a mistake.” This message needs restating.

Gilbert suggests an article by Andrew Odlyzko in First Monday. In Content is Not King, Odlyzko “shows how connectivity is more important than content, starting with the clear example of email as the “killer application” of the Internet.”
