Prospect Research Blog – an introduction

Greetings
Welcome to this prospect research blog. I hope that it is of interest to you. If not, please let me know. If you do find it of interest, please let me know.
I was at a conference a few months ago and I spotted a Charity Commission stall. I wandered over and started chatting to the member of staff about the Charity Commission website – how it is good to see the continuing improvements … were they likely to incorporate search facilities available with Guidestar UK … what improvements they might have in mind, etc.
Apparently the sorts of changes they are looking at are searches by:
geographical area of operation in which a charity operates
income range
date charity registered
date charity removed
classification (purpose, beneficiary and mode of operation)
These facilities are in addition to the current ones available and you will be able to search by a combination of any or all of the above
The Charity Commission hope to have this up and running this year but this may be delayed into 2007. At present there is no commitment to introduce a search by individual trustee name. For now, it is a case of ‘watch this space ‘ !
