The cumulative value of donations is uncapped, with, on the retail side, 12.5p from every 250g bag of beans, 25p from every 500g bag, and 50p from every 1kg bag going to the charity, and on the trade side, 25p from every 1kg bag sold.

The Children’s Hospice South-West & Albert Goodman

Albert Goodman has raised £12,000 for its charity of the year, The Children’s Hospice South-West, through various fundraising and employee engagement initiatives. Every year, staff from each of Albert Goodman’s offices in Taunton, Bristol, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and Weymouth vote for a charity to support. Over the past 12 months, staff have engaged in fundraising activities such as cycling to work, a half marathon, a whole firm annual away day charity raffle, a bake off and a 90s day. The donation will go towards providing services for the region’s hospices in North Devon, North Somerset and Cornwall.

MND Association & Toyota

Staff at Toyota (GB) and Toyota Financial Services in Burgh Heath have raised more than £45,000 for the MND Association in just five months, through a variety of activities including a gruelling Three Peaks Challenge, cake and plant sales, and a restaurant wait-on service. The activities are part of a three-year partnership between Toyota (GB), Toyota Financial Services, and the MND Association to raise funds for the charity and build awareness of the needs of people with motor neurone disease. Poundland Foundation raises £1mn in first year

The Poundland Foundation – launched by the retailer last year – is celebrating its first birthday by announcing it has raised £1million, taking Poundland’s fundraising total in the past five years to more than £6million mark.  The £6million represents the amount raised by Poundland colleagues, customers and suppliers since October 2017 – all now under the umbrella of the Poundland Foundation which has contributed more than £1million since its launch in May 2021. To mark its first anniversary, the Poundland Foundation has unveiled a new tagline – “supporting families, changing lives”.  It has raised enough in its first year to help change the lives of more than 26,000 families across its three charity partners.  And it has today announced the extension of its national charity partnership with Make-A-Wish® UK, Tommy’s and Whizz-Kidz for another year to September 2023.

The ambition of the new partnership with Macmillan is to work together to improve financial inclusion and support for those affected by cancer who may struggle to cope with the financial challenges following diagnosis. The partnership will focus on helping remove barriers and creating pioneering new, innovative tools and services to better support customers and colleagues living with cancer.

Help for Heroes & Kings Ferry, National Express Transport Solutions

A community open day at the Kings Ferry, the Gillingham depot of National Express Transport Solutions, enabled it to donate £600 to Help for Heroes. More than 100 people took the opportunity to join in the events at the company’s Kings Ferry depot. The day was designed to raise awareness, recruit drivers and fundraise for the Armed Forces charity. A raffle offered restaurant vouchers, and family tickets to Howletts wildlife park, Chatham Historic Dockyard, and a match at Gillingham FC. Visitors also had the chance to experience a VIP coach trip around the local area, have their name displayed on the coach’s destination board, sit in the driver’s seat, and help name the company’s ‘safety bear’, who is now called Ted.   A total of £535 was raised on the day for the charity, and National Express Transport Solutions rounded up the donation to £600. So far in 2022, the company has raised £1,600 for Help for Heroes and fundraising will continue throughout the year.
