New Belfast based trust will support local and overseas projects
A charitable trust has been established in Northern Ireland to support work in Ireland and overseas.
The LFT Charitable Trust says it will achieve its objectives by awarding grants to assist in the relief of suffering and distress, to further and advance the education of children and adults and to promote the health and wellbeing of children and adults by way of sustainable livelihood projects.
Additionally, LFT (which stands for Lonergan Family Trust) aims to support charities which in the view of the trustees are unable to obtain, or have difficulty in obtaining, funding from traditional funding sources. As well as supporting work in Ireland the trust focuses its giving on Madagascar or third world countries with the aim of making long term improvements to people’s lives within the sectors of education, health and welfare, sustainable livelihoods and water provision.
