LIDL Community Works seeks Community Heroes

Melanie May | 12 September 2016 | News

Lidl Northern Ireland is seeking nominations for community heroes for the second phase of this year’s Community Works campaign.
Community Works supports communities across Northern Ireland through funding and other support. In the second phase of 2016, LIDL wants to recognise individuals who give their time and effort to a cause that is both close to their hearts and the hearts of their local communities.
LIDL is inviting customers across Northern Ireland to nominate individuals from their local communities who they consider to be ‘heroes’ for their work and who deserve a treat from the supermarket. Nomination forms are available in-store and online from www.lidl-ni.co.uk and entries must be posted in the Community Works Nomination Box in all stores by the deadline of 16th September.
The winners and a guest will be treated to a gala event on the SS Nomadic in Belfast on 1st December with a meal created by celebrity chef and Lidl ambassador Ian Orr, and an overnight stay in a Belfast hotel. At the event, one overall winner will be presented with £1000 worth of Lidl vouchers and two runners up will receive £250 worth of vouchers each.
Paul Gibson, sales operations executive at Lidl Northern Ireland said:

“Through Community Works, we’ve been able to help over 100 community groups and clubs across the region so far this year – with more to come. We’ve been overwhelmed by how popular the initiative has been and we’re delighted to be able to now run a second phase of the programme.”
