Five fundraising tweets for 11 July 2016

Here is our latest collection of five tweets about fundraising, for fundraisers, and about fundraisers.

1. Spiv accusation nets £20k donation for GOSH

2. Charity partnerships

Twitter can be a handy place to learn about corporate partnerships and grant opportunities.

3. The future of fundraising

The sector continues to attract some outstanding people. The Rising Stars session at the Institute of Fundraising’s National Convention last week confirmed that in spades. Look out for UK Fundraising’s video coverage of each of the nine talks.

4. Fundraisers are volunteers

Fundraisers are donors, of course, and they are also volunteers. One of the biggest gatherings of fundraisers as volunteers is at the IoF Fundraising Convention.

5. Fundraisers sing for their supper

Research by Dr Beth Breeze at the University of Kent shows that fundraisers are more likely than other members of the public to sing in choirs. 11% of fundraisers are members of a choir it seems.
That was put into action at National Convention this week, with the Convention Choir, a pop-up choir of anyone who wanted to join in. Two short rehearsals and then we were performing in the Barbican concert hall.
