Ireland Funds’ Promising Ireland campaign raises $223m

The Ireland Funds has officially concluded its Promising Ireland campaign which has raised $223 million against an original target of $100 million.
As of 31 December 2015 the Funds reported that the total figure stood at $223 million, which will increase as they finalise additional income reports from all 12 Worldwide Ireland Funds chapters. A revised campaign figure is to be posted in mid-January.
Since its foundation in 1976 the Funds have raised more than $500 million for worthy causes in Ireland. Over the last few years the Funds have distributed money through an open call large and small grants programme. The organisation also provides funding through its donor advised programme where grants are channelled to particular causes.
The Worldwide Ireland Funds have an international philanthropic network operating in 12 countries with the United States the main base of operation. It is the largest network of friends of Ireland dedicated to supporting programs of peace and reconciliation, arts and culture, education and community development.
Founded in 1976, The Worldwide Ireland Funds have benefitted over 3,000 organisations.
