Here are some more corporate partnerships, fundraising totals and charity of the year partnerships.
1. Travelodge and Macmillan Cancer Support
Hotel chain Travelodge, which has over 500 hotels in the UK, has raised over £500,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Since the charity partnership was launched in 2013, Travelodge’s 10,000 staff members across the UK have held thousands of fundraising events to raise money for the cancer charity. For example, in June 2013, a team of 36 Travelodge employees climbed Ben Nevis and built a complete hotel room at the summit of the 1,344 metre peak, raising more than £60,000 in the process. The hotel ‘room with a view’ included room walls, a luxury Travelodge Dreamer bed, a duvet, a sheet with four pillows, a chair and a picture.
Customers have also made donations during their visit to hotels, and through donations via Travelodge’s partnership with Pennies, the electronic donation box. This invites customers to make a donation of 50p when booking online.
2. Virgin Unite and Sightsavers
Richard Branson’s Virgin Unite, the not-for-profit foundation of the Virgin Group, has partnered with Sightsavers to support its A Million Miracles campaign to carry out one million sight-restoring operations across Africa and Asia by 2018.
Virgin Unite’s support of £133,000 will focus on helping to deliver thousands of life-changing cataract surgeries in Bangladesh and Tanzania over the course of the next three years.
Branson blogged about why the foundation had supported the campaign.

“I was thrilled when I heard Richard Branson felt as strongly about this as I do and wanted to help. We look forward to working with Virgin Unite into the future – we believe it is unjust for people to live with blindness if it can easily be treated”.
3. Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
This year’s Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will again support The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and its range of projects to improve the lives of serving and former personnel nationwide.
The Military Tattoo in Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade is watched by 220,000 at the event, and 100 million watch it on TV around the world. This year it takes place from 7 – 29 August.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo makes a range of donations each year to several charities that operate in the arts, culture and military sectors. To date they have given over £8 million to good causes, of which The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity has received a total of £140,000 (£40k in 2012, £30k in 2013 and £70k in 2014, the year of the Royal Marines 350th Anniversary).
4. Deloitte and Alzheimer’s Society, Mind and Prostate Cancer UK
Deloitte has reached its £1 million target for its national charity partners, Alzheimer’s Society, Mind and Prostate Cancer UK in its Charity Challenge.
239 Deloitte staff, including 25 partners, took part in four challenges across four continents in June and July 2015, raising £1 million for its three charity partners. The challenges included reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, completing a tri-x in Borneo, climbing Mulhacén in mainland Spain and scaling one of the world’s most active volcanoes, Cotopaxi in Ecuador.
The £1 million target was raised by over 10,543 sponsors and includes over £250,000 matched funding by Deloitte, the largest the firm has ever provided. The Charity Challenge has been Deloitte’s biggest fundraising event to date and brings the total raised for its national charity partners to £2.5 million, exceeding the £2 million target set in 2013.
5. Wren Kitchens and CLIC Sargent
Wren Kitchens is half-way through a year-long charity partnership with CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer charity.
The company has pledged to raise £50,000 through fundraising and donations over the next year. It has over 50 showrooms nationwide, two factories in North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, and a head office is in North Lincolnshire.
Their first fundraising event was on Valentines’ Day when they raised £1,133 at the three main sites.
During Childhood Cancer Awareness month in September a staff football team will play ex-Hull city FC players in a match that has already raised £1,000 in sponsorship.
