The Guide to Grants for Individuals in Need 24/25 - hold an umbrella over someone's head

Interview with Alex McDowell, Remember a Charity

Last week UK Fundraising’s Howard Lake spoke to Alex McDowell, Chair of Remember A Charity, and Head of Legacy & Tribute Fundraising at NSPCC.
Alex talked about the group’s Legacy Manifesto in which the coalition of charities proposed four ways in which the government might help increase the volume and value of charitable legacies.
He mentioned the research that it has commissioned into legacy giving, and its work with other networks including companies in its efforts to make legacy giving a social norm.
He mentioned that Remember a Charity Week is coming up in September and once again will focus on the ordinary ‘Heroes’ who make such a difference by pledging to leave a charitable legacy.
