JustTextGiving donations have now passed £22m

Vodafone UK has announced that more than £22 million has been donated in the past three years via its text donation service JustTextGiving, created in partnership with JustGiving and the Vodafone Foundation.
Over 21,000 charities have used the service since it launched in May 2011, and 2.5 million donations have been made.
Charities have also benefited from the 187,000 people who have used the platform to fundraise for them.
Ice Bucket Challenge
JustTextGiving was used extensively during the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in August this year, handling over 800,000 text donations worth more than £4 million to the multiple charities that benefited from their supporters taking the challenge.
It has also handled donations for ITV’s Text Santa campaign.
Vodafone Group Foundation Director Andrew Dunnett said:
“JustTextGiving has changed the face of fundraising in the UK by allowing charities of all sizes to tap in to the increasing trend for mobile giving.”
