DONATE launches fundraising competition for arts organisations for Giving Tuesday

Howard Lake | 26 November 2014 | News

The National Funding Scheme, the charity behind DONATE, the online giving platform for arts and cultural organisations, is marking Giving Tuesday by announcing a competition.
The charity that raises the most via the DONATE platform between 18 November and 2 December, Giving Tuesday, will have all fees charged on donations during that two-week period waived.
Giving Tuesday takes place on the first Tuesday of December, and is being promoted in the UK for the first time this year. The hundreds of organisations that are supporting it are using it as an opportunity to promote the idea of doing one good thing on the day for a charitable cause. That could be donating money, time or some other service.
Sue Davies, Managing Director of the National Funding Scheme, said:

“The National Funding Scheme is one of the founding partners of Giving Tuesday in the UK. We want as many cultural organisations as possible to be a part of this great day of public giving. So log on to the DONATE platform, sign up if you are not already a partner, and get thinking about creative ways of how you could raise money for your organisation and show support for Giving Tuesday. We’re here to offer creative tips to any organisations that need help with their campaign.”
