Lloyds reports on Northern Ireland giving

Howard Lake | 29 July 2014 | News

Lloyds Bank Foundation for Northern Ireland, previously known as Lloyds TSB Foundation, made grants under its main grant schemes of just over £1.6 million in 2013, according to the organisation’s latest annual report.
The funding distributed under the Community Grant Programme went to 520 projects operating in the fields of community, advice, disability and health across Northern Ireland. The average grant across all grant programmes was £3500.
The Lloyds Bank Foundation for Northern Ireland also gave grants under other headings – Creating Change (£155,000), International (£95,000), Partnership (£73,000), Special Initiatives (£18,000), Collaboration (£18,000) and Social Enterprise (£27,000). The Foundation also operated a matched giving programme for Lloyds Bank employees which amounted to £53,000.
The report noted a decline of 2% in grant giving compared to 2012 in what the Foundation described as a ‘tightening’ of resources. The report all stated:

‘This year brought a further £1,872,945 from Lloyds Banking Group as the 4th and final payment of a funding agreement for the period 2010 to 2013.”

No comment was made on future funding arrangements with Lloyds.
The Foundation referred to a new initiative whereby funding was provided in conjunction with Atlantic Philanthropies to fund Giving NI, a new philanthropy promotion body.
