Deutsche Bank’s small charity fund opens for applications
Deutsche Bank is inviting applications from local charities from its small charity fund. The fund helps local community initiatives and grassroots causes who are providing disadvantage 11-18 year olds with the opportunities they need to succeed in life.
Grants 0f up to £5,000 are now available in London, Merseyside, and Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The Deutsche Bank Small Grants Fund has been operating since 2005 in London, in partnership with The London Community Foundation. It has subsequently extended to other major cities where the bank operates, and is run in partnership with the Community Foundation in each area.
Last year Deutsche Bank’s youth engagement programme supported over 50,000 young people with education opportunities. Its ‘Born to Be’ programme aims to prevent youth unemployment.
Funding themes
The types of projects that qualify for funding include:
- Projects that prevent young people from becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training) later in life;
- Projects that provide educational support or opportunities;
- Projects that enable young people to develop essential life skills;
- Projects that enable young people to develop employability/enterprise skills.
Eligibility for funding
The fund accepts applications from constituted community groups, voluntary organisations, charities, community interest companies and social enterprises. Groups must have an annual income of less than £250,000. Priority might be given to groups with an annual income of under £200,000.
Groups must have been established for at least one year.
