Will the Selfie be upstaged by the UnSelfie?

Howard Lake | 27 November 2013 | Blogs

This month we learned that the word ‘Selfie’ had been named by Oxford Dictionaries as “the word of 2013“.
Appropriately that rather self-regarding notion has been hijacked by the global GivingTuesday campaign to promote charitable giving. People are now being encouraged to share an ‘Unselfie’ image with details of how they are supporting their favourite charity and how other people can join them in doing so.
To join in, Giving Tuesday encourages people to:

“Take a pic, tag it #unselfie and #givingtuesday and upload to your Instagram, Twitter or Facebook from now till December 4”.

Here are just some of those joining in this campaign.
