How to donate clothes to charity online

Howard Lake | 4 November 2013 | News

Clothes for Charity is a service designed to help make donating clothes to charity easier for everyone. While some people can drop off unwanted, good quality clothes at their local charity shop, many people can’t – they live too far away or don’t have transport.
Clothes for Charity will collect donated items from people’s homes, and pass it to the donor’s selected charity.

There is a minimum weight of 15kg required to qualify for the service. Clothes can be collected from home or work addresses.
For every tonne of clothes donated, the charity will receive £200. “That’s almost three times what they get from normal doorstep collections”, according to Clothes for Charity’s promotional video.
Participating charities include The Rainforest Trust, Centrepoint, Carer’s Trust, Orbis, Woodland Trust and Tommy’s.
