Kindlington Guides have won a £5,000 in Kumho Tyres’ Cash for Causes competition.
Over 400 charities and good causes registered to take part in the online public vote to share £100,000. The Kidlington group secured the highest number of the 12,000 votes cast, so won £5,000, in addition to their share of the £100,000.
The local guiding group was nominated by Kidlington Tyres & Exhausts and, with support for the Kidlington community, it secured a 14% share of the public vote online.
This is the second year that the international tyre manufacturer has supported local causes across the country.
Kumho Tyres’ marketing director, John Thrupp, said: “Helping communities and supporting worthwhile causes is part of Kumho’s Korean heritage and emphasises the importance of social responsibilities to companies.
“We’ve been thrilled with the way this campaign has grown this year, votes were incredibly close up to the last moment and we’d like to say well done to all the causes which took part.”
