How to use the Fundraising plugin for WordPress
Since UK Fundraising now runs on WordPress, I’ll start sharing some WordPress tips and ideas for the many other charities that use this system to publish and manage their website.
One plugin I came across recently was called, appropriately enough, ‘Fundraising’. Created by WPMU DEV, it “allows you to raise cash yourself on your WordPress site without having to pay some third-party site to do it for you”.
It’s designed not only for charities or nonprofits to fundraise but also for individuals and other organisations to run fundraising campaigns for themselves, or for other good causes.
Paul Mendoza of WPMU DEV has created this video to explain how Fundraising compares to crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, and then guides you through installing the plugin and using it.

He cites the success in using the plugin of US nonprofit organisation Going Beyond Borders which has raised $40,002 towards its $250,000 goal for a Kenyan Community Hospital.
The plugin integrates with PayPal and also accepts donations in multiple currencies.
It handles one-off donations as well as regular gifts. You can also set up prompted levels of giving.
You can see progress of appeals from a progress bar, and share that and other updates on the fundraising page. Once you have bought the plugin you can use it to create and run multiple fundraising appeals.
