Royal baby congratulations cards raise funds for charities

Howard Lake | 23 July 2013 | News

Online charity greeting cards service CharityGreetings.com reports a surge in sales of congratulations and new baby cards from people wishing to send their messages of goodwill to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the arrival of their son.

Charity Greetings sends cards direct to Clarence House on behalf of the well-wishers, and hand-write each card.

Each greeting card sent through Charity Greetings raises money for charity.

Craig Hartzel, founder of Charity Greetings, said: "As soon as the news hit that it was a baby boy, our new baby boy greeting cards have been selling out fast. Clarence House’s mail department is going to be very busy in the coming weeks”.

He added: "We’ve had orders come in from South Africa, Israel, USA and even Australia. It just goes to show how William and Kate have captured the hearts not just in the UK but far and wide.”

Card purchasers choose which charity will benefit from the sale of the card(s) they buy. There are over one hundred charities to support, including some that are particularly relevant to a new baby such as The Fostering Network and Wellbeing Of Woman.

With 2,200 babies born yesterday in Great Britain, Hartzel pointed out that there are many births that can be celebrated with a new baby charity greeting card and which can help raise funds for charity.
