The Santander Foundation and Mayor’s Fund for London have launched Community Plus London, a £100,000 scheme to provide grants of up to £5,000 to small registered charities across the capital.
The funding is designed to help charity projects that support disadvantaged people in London. Charities supporting health, skills and employment outcomes for young people are especially encouraged to enter.
The funders say that the application process "has been designed to make getting a grant as simple as possible, specifically to help smaller charities access vital funding".
Matthew Patten, Chief Executive of the Mayor’s Fund for London, said: “Some of the most effective charitable work in London takes place unseen within a very local context. We receive many requests for support and this wonderful new partnership with the Santander Foundation will allow us to encourage Londoners to take the lead in their own communities.”
Applications and nominations
Local charities can apply for a grant from Community Plus London, and members of the public can nominate them too.
Application forms are available in Santander's London branches or they can be submitted online.
The deadline for applications is 12 September 2013.
