Born Free’s Big Cat Nap week invites supporters to do nothing for charity

Howard Lake | 29 June 2013 | News

Wildlife charity The Born Free Foundation is urging people to do nothing in support of its Big Cat Nap week which runs from 1-7 July.

The third annual Big Cat Nap involves emulating male lions who sleep for 23 hours a day. People can relax or join in a sleep-themed activity and ask their friends and family to sponsor them.

Alternatively they can share photos of their sleeping pets or themselves putting their feet up to relax, in order to spread the message about the plight of wild big cats. The charity's website includes a Bit Cat Nap photo uploader to make the process easy.

The Foundation's ideas for fundraising events include hosting a long lunch, wearing pyjamas to work, and collecting donations. Schools can take part by hosting a sponsored read while pupils put their feet up, or a big cat face painting event.
