Lloyds’ graduate intake challenged to raise £1m for charity of the year

Two hundred graduates who joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2012 are aiming to raise £1 million for Alzheimer’s Society, the Group’s charity of the year.

The Graduate Charity Challenge, the fourth run by the Group, will last for six months, and is designed to test their innovation and teamwork. The graduates are being challenged to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society’s Live Well Campaign. They must also develop a full business case to make recommendations on ways that the Group might improve its offering to customers and colleagues who are directly impacted by the condition.

Liz Monks, Director of Fundraising at Alzheimer’s Society, said: “I had the pleasure of meeting the 200 graduates myself and well over half of them knew someone living with dementia. Their determination to make a difference was breathtaking. They not only wanted to raise funds, but also develop ways to make Lloyds Banking Group more dementia friendly. This shows such commitment to our cause, and I look forward to seeing their progress.”
