Igloo sells on eBay and raises £2,000+ for Yorkshire Cancer Research

Five friends who built an igloo for fun in snowy Harrogate on Monday evening have used it to raise over £2,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
First it was sold on eBay for £571, and then the friends set up a JustGiving page to enable others to show their appreciation for their structure. So far that has raised £2,693. Craig Parker, Greg Davies, Carl Baranovsky, Mark Baranovsky and Tom Davies spent eight hours building the igloo. For a while it was listed on property website Rightmove.
On eBay it was described as “A beautifully presented and smartly appointed ground floor stand alone studio apartment with huge garden overlooking the Stray. Enviably located on one of Harrogate’s most prestigious sections of The Stray, superbly placed within easy reach of the town center”.

For services, they added: “Garden is maintained by the council” and for facilities they said: “Easy access to Sunday league football”. They admitted that “Building is at risk of chav damage”.
Sally Crerar, Head of Community Fundraising at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “We’re very proud that such a unique and prestigious property is being auctioned to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research”.
