Variety's Gold Heart Appeal

Since 1991, Variety’s Gold Heart Appeal has been the charity’s signature campaign in the UK and worldwide.

In recent years the charity has worked with film companies, including Disney, Lucasfilms, Paramount, DreamWorks, and Warner Bros. to design an annual special edition badge, based on a universally recognised film, character or celebrity. So far, the appeal has raised more than £20 million to help thousands of children and young people in the UK.

Marsha Rae Ratcliff, creator of Variety’s Gold Hearts and the first woman to become Chief Barker of Variety, said: "We are grateful to Disney and Pixar for their support and partnership on this year’s Monsters Inc themed badge as well as to the public who continue to purchase these and help raise funds for the sick, disabled and disadvantaged children we work with across the UK."
