Galaxy Hot Chocolate launches charity fund

Howard Lake | 8 January 2013 | News

The Mars brand Galaxy Hot Chocolate has created a charitable fund to help small, local community groups and charities across the UK.

For the next three months it will select organisations to receive a donation of £300. A total of 60 donations will be made. There will also be a monthly People's Choice award in which the public can vote for their favourite local charity or community project.

Michelle Frost, spokesperson for GALAXY Hot Chocolate, explained why the fund has been launched: “The tough economic climate has meant that many local community groups and charities are finding it hard to make ends meet. Our hope is that the Fund will help support community-minded people and projects across the UK."

The fund follows a similar campaign in 2012 in which Galaxy Hot Chocolate gave away a monthly donation of £2,000.

Applications are now open.
