Focus Ireland’s fundraising income up 10%

Accounts for homeless people charity Focus Ireland show that it increased its income from fundraising last year by nearly 10 per cent. The charity is currently in its busiest fundraising period of the year.

Focus Ireland’s fundraising income in 2011 was just under €5.5 million, up from €5 million in 2010. Overall income, which includes grant income from the government, increased from €18.1 million to €18.4 million.

The increase in fundraising income reflects a significant increase in fundraising costs which the organisation describes as ‘strategic.’ Notes to the accounts show that €1.1 million was invested in strategic fundraising growth during 2011.
