Events featuring ‘Funky Zombies’ doing the dance will be taking place in Osaka, Los Angeles, Melbourne, London, Manila, Salvador, Istanbul, Berlin, DC, Bogota, Dublin, Paris, Toronto and other cities. They will all perform ‘Thriller’ at exactly the same time: 7pm GMT/UTC.
The event is an attempt at achieving a world record. The highest number of people to participate in the event is 22,596, the current world record.
To take part, people are invited to learn the dance using online tutorial videos, audio, and dance script, and then sign up to their local city “Thrill”.
