Howard Lake | 4 September 2012 | News

The Association of Charitable Trusts Northern Ireland (ACF) is organising a mini conference on 18th and 19th October under the theme ‘Leadership for a Shared Future.’
The aim of the conference is learning and exchange of experiences between existing or potential funders in Northern Ireland. Guest speakers are being invited to give presentations on social, economic and political issues particular to Northern Ireland, as well as examples of practice.
Representatives from around 20 charitable trusts from Ireland and Britain are expected to attend. The format will provide for informative presentations from local experts on the socio-economic and political context, with a particular focus on the work being undertaken by people supported by the Northern Ireland Development Fund. The Fund is supported by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Henry Smith Charity.
Speakers already confirmed for the conference include Will Haire, Permanent Secretary, Department of Social Development, Jacqueline Irwin, Director, Community Relations Council and Stephan Pittam, recently retired director of the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.
The conference will take place at Galgorm, County Antrim. Cost for non ACF members is £215 and £195 for members. Non-residential costs are £120 for non members and £100 for members.
