The Land Rover ‘Journey of Discovery’ has raised £1 million for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Mark Cameron, Land Rover Global Brand Experience Director, presented the cheque to Mark Astarita, Director of Fundraising at the British Red Cross, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Land Rover is celebrating the ‘Journey of Discovery’ this weekend.
The 50-day ‘Journey of Discovery’ from Birmingham to Beijing, was Land Rover’s biggest fundraising project to date. It celebrated the production of the one millionth Land Rover Discovery, 23 years after it was first introduced in 1989.
The money was raised by Land Rover employees as well as dealers and suppliers around the world.
Land Rover has supported the IFRC since 1954. Sine 2007 it has provided £5.2 million in support to the IFRC.
