JustTextGiving by Vodafone partners with Race for Life series

Cancer Research UK has chosen text donation service JustTextGiving by Vodafone as an official fundraising partner and champion for its Race for Life 2012 event series. Over 600,000 participants will be encouraged to use JustTextGiving and JustGiving to support their fundraising efforts.
By offering donors an opportunity to give on the spot via mobile phone, as well as via the web, Cancer Research UK hopes to boost fundraising income. Each participant will be given their own text code which they can personalise to enable them to seek donations anywhere.
JustTextGiving by Vodafone, launched a year ago, has 30,000 individual fundraisers signed up to raise funds for 15,000 charities. JustGiving has been working with Cancer Research UK on supporting Race for Life since 2004.
Andrew Dunnett, Director of the Vodafone Foundation, which funds JustTextGiving, said: “JustTextGiving is a great fit for Race for Life as it allows speedy, spontaneous donations wherever you are, using your phone… With more than 50 million people carrying a mobile phone, the potential for charities and individuals to raise additional funds is very real and exciting.”
