Dorset Community Foundation is offering grants to individuals and organisations working to help elderly and vulnerable people in the county this winter. The newly launched Keep Warm, Keep Well, Keep Safe Fund offers grants to support individuals as well as organisations and community groups who are working with elderly and vulnerable people.
Individual help is available for heating repairs, paying fuel and electric bills, purchase of warm clothing and anything to do with preventing potential cold related deaths, fuel poverty and social isolation during the winter months.
Grants are also available for community groups, charities, residents associations and neighbourhood watch schemes that are planning, or wish to organise social inclusion activities, good neighbour projects and undertake gritting and clearing of snow activities during the winter.
The Foundation’s primary role is to provide financial management and grants administration of charitable funds on behalf of major donors, companies and Dorset’s Secret Millionaires. Over the past five years it has distributed over £5 million in grants to more than 1,600 local charities and community groups across Dorset.
