Institute of Fundraising redevelops its website as 'fundraising hub'
The Institute of Fundraising has redeveloped its website to offer more resources and support for its members and anyone else interested in fundraising issues.
Described as a “fundraising hub”, the new site will feature news, expert advice and updates on fundraising issues in the UK and beyond. It will feature a searchable library section and “research portal”. It will also start featuring embedded video and audio content, and more social media integration.
Members of the Institute will continue to benefit from a dedicated area featuring specialist features and ./guidance.
The site will also feature a ‘My IoF’ section which can be tailored to meet an individual’s interests and fundraising specialism. A ‘My groups’ area will support the Institute’s network of special interest and regional groups, and other grassroots networks.
The site was redeveloped following a year-long review and a consultation with the Institute’s 5,200 individual and over 300 organisational members. The most popular requested functions were better integration with digital communications advancements, improved navigation and the ability to easily identify individually relevant content.
Peter Lewis, Chief Executive of the Institute, said: “We’re very excited to be launching our new website for members and the wider fundraising community. It is packed with dynamic new features and content on major industry issues that our members have requested. We will now be better able to help even more fundraisers to raise money for good causes. We plan to use it to promote all the good that fundraising does within the UK.”
The Institute created its first website in 2000. It reports that its current site is attracting around 40,000 unique users per month, and average yearly traffic of 314,794 unique visitors.
Future developments include integration with chat forums, webinars, a blog section and a mobile optimised version of the site.
