Burnett Works to help expand World's Biggest Coffee Morning

Macmillan Cancer Support has chosen full-service marketing and communications agency Burnett Works as strategic and creative partner for its flagship fundraising event, The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The charity encourages people to get together with friends, colleagues and neighbours during September to have coffee and raise money.
The 2011 campaign was the most successful in its 21 year history with a 20% increase in registrations and a 20% rise in income.
Hannah Redmond, Senior Programme Manager for the event at Macmillan, is optimistic about this year’s campaign. “In 2012” she said, “we want to continue to build on the event’s success, with campaign creative being a key driver. As well as retaining our past coffee morning hosts, we have an ambitious target for recruiting tens of thousands more.”
‘We were all really impressed with Burnett Works’ pitch and incredibly well developed proposition. The time and consideration they put into each element really came through, as did their understanding of and empathy with our audience. We’re confident they can deliver the project for us and quickly get to grips with our brand so didn’t hesitate in appointing them as our agency for 2012.’
Claire Babraff, Head of Client Services at Burnett Works, said: “We’re really excited about using our wealth of experience in community and event fundraising to enhance the success of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. One of the things we loved about the pitch brief was Macmillan’s insight that the proposition must appeal to people’s highly emotional motivations for taking part in the event.”
