Nominations open for JustGiving Awards 2012

Howard Lake | 30 November 2011 | News

Online fundraising site JustGiving is seeking nominations for its JustGiving Awards 2012. They are free to enter and open to anyone who has used JustGiving to fundraise and every charity that is registered on the site. That could be any of the 380,000 fundraisers and 8,000 charities who have used the site to raise over £200 million over the past year.
The Awards are now in their third year, and the 13 categories include Most Popular Fundraiser, Endurance Fundraiser of the Year, Most Creative Charity of the Year, and Best New Charity.
There are three new award categories to enter, reflecting JustGiving’s latest tools and services. These are the Mobile Fundraiser of the Year Award for individuals or charities who have used the JustTextGiving service to successfully raise funds; the Best Use of Technology Award for developers who have used JustGiving’s technology like its API to build new ways to help charities and individuals raise even more money; and the Workplace Fundraiser of the Year Award which recognises organisations or a group of employees who have used JustGiving’s new Company Fundraising tool.
Last year’s winners included nine year old Charlie Simpson, who raised over £200,000 for UNICEF in response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
The deadline for entries or nominations is 6 January 2012.
