Charities to benefit from 500 more Vodafone World of Difference placements

Howard Lake | 26 September 2011 | News

The Vodafone World of Difference UK programme is open once again, offering 500 people the chance to get paid to work for a UK charity of their choice.
Any charity can benefit if they are chosen by a volunteer. Participating charities are listed on the Charity Matchmaker. If yours is not listed it can be added within 24 hours.
Those charities selected by the successful 500 are given £2,500 towards their placement’s salary, plus £250 for the charity’s expenses. The programme is clearly successful: 85% of charities who benefited from a World of Difference winner would like to have another one.
For the first time, the programme, delivered by the Vodafone Foundation, will be open to both full and part-time placement entries.
The programme was once again launched by TV presenter Gok Wan. He said: “It’s amazing – eight out of 10 of those who took part last year planned to continue their work with their chosen charity after the programme finished.”

Applications from individuals close at 16.00 on 22 November 2011. Judging will take place during December and early January. Successful applicants will be notified after 16 January 2012, and placements must start between 28 February and 5 March 2012.
The programme is open to any UK or Channel Island citizen over the age of 18.
