Dog and cat food tins recycled into £30,000 donation

Purina, the company that produces cat food FELIX® and dog food Winalot®, has achieved its target for recycling pet food tins in a summer campaign to benefit three charities.

Pet owners were encouraged to recycle steel pet food cans in the Together We Can campaign during July 2011. The campaign website now reports that 50,206 cans have been recycled, beating the target of 50,000 cans.

Purina will therefore be donating £30,000, to be split equally between Cats Protection, Canine Partners and Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
