The Guide to Grants for Individuals in Need 24/25 - hold an umbrella over someone's head

Charities – Morality – News of the World – all in the same headline…

So Barnardo’s, Forces Children’s Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity have taken about £933,000 from NoTW, and I pause to wonder if an act becomes less immoral the larger the amount of money involved? http://bit.ly/nIAYc8
As a consultancy we have drafted and agreed dozens of “Acceptance of funds policies” for charities, not one of which would failed to raise a question mark over this blinding obvious attempt by News International to launder its guilt in hacking into Milly Dowler’s mobile phone , deleting messages and contributing to the agony of her parents by offering money to charities and choosing two children’s charities and to a hospital that treats soldiers in a slick appeal to patriotism.
Yes, all three charities are great causes but they have damaged their reputations and public standing by taking these funds, if the indignation in my in-box is anything to go by.

PS I would be more impressed by Wendy Deng if she had given both the Murdochs a smack round the head…
