Relationship Marketing appoints Alan Clayton as CEO
Telephone fundraising agency Relationship Marketing has announced the appointment of Alan Clayton as its Chief Executive Officer. Clayton has been working with the company on a consultancy basis for almost a year and has overseen a restructuring and repositioning of the agency in that period.
Clayton was previously Managing Director at Cascaid (latterly The Good Agency) following a career in-house at two national charities. The CEO post is part-time, and allows Clayton to continue his existing roles as Director of London & Copenhagen based consulting company Clayton Burnett and of the residential training and development centre at the Inch Hotel, Loch Ness. Relationship Marketing is situated just outside Edinburgh, so Clayton will be splitting his time between Scotland and London.
Alan Clayton described his motivations for taking on the role; ‘It has been a dramatic year of change for Relationship Marketing. I have been impressed by the openness of the team to new structures and a new vision and culture. I have been particularly blown away by the telephone fundraisers – people for whom speaking to donors and asking for money is their career, their vocation and their purpose.
