Woodland Trust to receive income from ‘Tiptoe through the Bluebells’
The Woodland Trust has released a charity single of ”Tiptoe through the Bluebells’, a new version of the 1929 song, recorded for the charity by Misty Miller. She recorded and produced the song to draw people’s attention to the importance of protecting the UK’s ancient woodlands, which, at this time of year, are at their very best covered in carpets of bluebells.
All proceeds from sales of the song will go to the Woodland Trust.
Folk pop artist Miller has already appeared on BBC Radio 1 and XFM, in Fly Magazine, Another Magazine and Italian Vogue, and has been chosen by the creative director of Burberry to promote Burberry Acoustic.
Miller said:
“Bluebells are so beautiful and the fact that they are often found in ancient woods, the equivalent of our rainforest, made recording this song to raise money to protect ancient woodland really worthwhile.”
The video for the song was filmed amidst the bluebells at Heartwood and Langley woods in St Albans by visual artist Roger Deckker. It also features on VisitWoods.org.uk, which holds the largest searchable database of bluebell woods in the world.
