Breast cancer charity Future Dreams has reached its £1,000,000 fundraising target following the gala night of its West End variety show She’s the One.
The celebrity-packed show presented by Gaby Roslin, Arlene Phillips, Kimberley Walsh and John Partridge, took place at the Savoy Theatre last night on Mother’s Day. It featured acts by X-Factor winner Shayne Ward and West End favourites Legally Blonde, Priscilla and Cuba Libre as well as dance acts by Escala, The Reason 4 and Woman.
Comedian Miranda Hart and singer and actor Bernie Nolan appeared with West End performers including Frances Ruffelle, Hannah Waddingham, Louise Dearman, and Daniel Boys.
Future Dreams was set up by mother and daughter Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie who used their experience and connections as performing arts teachers to raise over £785,000 since 2008. However, both lost their battles with cancer in the past 18 months. Last night’s show was organised by their son and brother Dale Henry on Mother’s Day to honour their memories and continue their work.
Future Dreams sold over 1,100 tickets at £75-200 per ticket. Funds raised from the show take Future Dreams overall target to £1,000,000. All funds raised have been donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s gene research lab dedicated to incurable secondary breast cancer.
