Farewell to CAF Gift Vouchers

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) is to phase out their CAF Gift Vouchers. These were introduced over ten years ago to enable people to make charitable donations as gifts for family and friends, with the advantage that they were tax-effective.
CAF promoted them as Valentine’s Day and Christmas gifts.
However, following a review which highlighted that sales had declined year on year, down to just 150 orders last year, CAF has decided to end the scheme. “The cost of operating the scheme is disproportionate to the value of funds generated for charities”, said Mandy Pursey, Head of PR at CAF . “We are putting our efforts into creating more modern and tax efficient ways of giving”.
She added: “Knowing that other organisations provide this service was an important consideration when we decided to end the service”, giving
