Irish Cancer Society teams up with Airtricity

Howard Lake | 22 March 2011 | News

In the run-up to Daffodil Day 2011 on 25 March the Irish Cancer Society has announced a new partnership with power supplier Airtricity.
From 21 to 25 March Airtricity will donate €20 to the Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day 2011 for every person that switches online to Airtricity and enters the promotional code: Daff2011 on www.airtricity.com when making the switch.
5,000 volunteers, including staff volunteers from Airtricity, will take to the streets of Ireland on 25 March with a fundraising target of €3.8 million. Funds raised on Daffodil Day are channelled into the charity’s nationwide patient care services.
Speaking about the Irish Cancer Society partnership with Airtricity, Jackie Duggan, Marketing Manager, Airtricity said: “In addition to directly supporting the drive through donations from switches, as part of the Airtricity Community at Heart Staff Volunteering Programme, Airtricity employees will be at various locations in Dublin selling daffodils on Friday 25 March to support this very worthy cause.”
The Daffodil Day collection is the biggest fundraising event in Ireland and regularly raises more than €3 million. For many years the event was supported by the Bank of Ireland.
