Co-op Christmas sandwiches raise £40,000 for young carers

Sale of Christmas charity sandwiches by The Co-operative have raised £39,582 for YCNet, part of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers which offers online support for young carers. The donation from the retailer will go towards funding online support workers and managers for these young people.
The sandwiches were available in three flavours: turkey, stuffing, bacon and cranberry; Wiltshire ham and braised red cabbage; and a Christmas dinner triple (prawn cocktail, turkey and stuffing, and cheddar cheese & chutney).
Helen Shaw, Sandwich Buyer at The Co-operative, thanked the Co-op’s customers for helping to raise the money. adding: “This initiative is a great example of The Co-operative’s on-going commitment to young people.”
